Material: Purple Heart and Curley Maple

Technique: Dovetail joints, often left visible as a decorative feature. Lid is Curley Maple with a strip of Purple Heart. Hidden barrel hinges are used

Cherry, Maple & Mahogany Box

Material: Cherry, Curley Maple, and Mahogany

Technique: Dovetail joints, often left visible as a decorative feature

Finish: Two coats of Clear Wood Lacquer, Satin. Lid is Cherry with one strip of Curley Maple down the middle

Happy 15th Anniversary

Material: 1/2” plywood and 1/4” baltic birch for the backing board

Technique: Cut on a scroll saw

Finish: The base and backing boards are painted with white paint and the main piece was burnt with a torch. This burning accents the fibers of the plywood. The entire piece was finished with four-coats of clear Shellac

Story: This was made for a customers 15th wedding anniversary. It can be made for all anniversaries, but all future projects will include the proper “oridinals following the number, ie st for 1st, nd for 2nd, rd for 3rd, th for 4th, etc)

America 250th Anniversary

Material: 3/4” oak

Technique: Engraved with a handheld stroll saw

Finish: Pained with acrylic paints and finished with six-coats of ZAR, Exterior Polyurethane

Story: This is hung beneath the mailbox for a customer. It is engraved on both sides, so it can be seen from either direction of their street

Shut Up and Kiss me

Material: 3/4” select pine

Technique: Cut on a scroll saw

Finish: Four coats of clear Shellac

Story: This is stand up art, which can be placed on a table, fireplace mantle, or other flat surface

Size: Approximately 9” tall and 8” wide

Suspended Center

Material: 3/4” plywood

Technique: Cut on a table saw and scroll saw

Finish: The piece was burnt with a torch to accent the grain of the wood. It was finished with four-coats of clear Shellac

Story: The center piece is suspended from the top cross member with earth magnets. Fishing line is used to attach the bottom of the center piece and the base of the unit. This allows the center piece to appear suspended in midair.

Size: 8” tall and 8” wide

Memory Box

Material: 3/4” select pine

Technique: Mostly completed on a table saw

Finish: Sanded with 220 grit sandpaper and the inside of the drawer was finished with black Flock It, which gives it a Suede look.

Size: 12” tall x 9” wide

Story: This was made for a customer to store rocks and pictures of her husband, who recently passed away.

Heart in a Heart

Material: 3/4” plywood and two tea lights

Technique: Cut with a scroll saw and a #5 modified geometry blade

Finish: Wood was burnt with a torch to accent the wood grain and finished with four-coats of clear Shellacr

Size: 6-1/2” tall x 6” wide

Mounting: The main heart is recessed into the base and the small heart is hung with a small hook

Children’s Hospital Christmas Ornaments

Material: 1/4" Baltic Birch plywood

Technique: Hand-cut on a scroll saw and sanded with 180 and 220 grit sandpaper (approximately 200 hours of work)

Finish: Unfinished at the request of Children’s Hospital staff so each child can decorate their own ornament

Size: Ranges from approximately 3 1/2" to 6 1/4" tall

Story: 400 ornaments lovingly created and donated for children spending Christmas 2025 at Children’s Hospital in Aurora.
